Believe this item to be either late 1800's or very early 1900's. Looks very similar to an 1850's Hurlimann Theodolite. Missing one of the telescope lenses. There is still liquid in the level (glass covering), which appears to be functional. The compass arm is off but still there.
Engraved "A Hurlimann A Paris" with the number "15" below it. 10 inches x 10 inches. Base pedestal circle measures approx 5 inches. Comes with what appears to be original wood box, measuring 14" x 9" x 9. Hinges are there but detached from lid.Unit is heavy, weighing approx 20- 21 lbs in box. Other than the eyepiece covering and lens on the one side (I can see a small lense farther inside), I do not know what other parts might be missing from this instrument. Message me if you would like additional photos.
