Vintage A. Lietz Surveyors Transit With Original Wood Box/leather Strap Rare

  
This is an exquisite and very old A. Surveyors Transit in original wooden box with leather strap still intact. Box bears the name of A. Lietz along with other various company info. The transit itself appears to be fully intact. No parts missing or broken. The base is brass the rest is Black metal or black over brass. The level is glass and works well. The Box itself is amazing. Is out of San Francisco and was founded by Adolph Lietz from Germany in 1882.

I have tried to date this transit back to 1930's. The company still exists today , however ownership and the name have changed..
